Last weekend, Riz and I took a much-needed break from our busy lives. We headed to Ojai, California, for a couples retreat. We had heard great things about Katie Hendricks and the couple's course. We were excited to spend a few days in the beautiful California sunshine, focusing on our relationship and well-being.
We arrived at the Hummingbird Inn on Thursday evening and were immediately struck by the peaceful surroundings. The hotel was nestled in the foothills of the Topatopa Mountains, surrounded by lush greenery and fragrant orange groves.
Over the next few days, we participated in various classes and activities designed to help us deepen our connection and communication as a couple. We also had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, walking along the nearby trails and resting in our room.
One of the highlights of the retreat was the food. When we travel, we usually pack vegan food in our suitcases just in case we do not have options. But every restaurant in Ojai has at least one vegan option. We discovered Hip Vegan the very first night and visited almost every day. They have a wide selection of vegan food to meet your desires.
Another memorable experience was the quiet and uninterrupted moments I shared with my husband. We have yet to spend time in nature the way we did this past weekend. The work we did as a couple brought us even closer.
Overall, the couples retreat in Ojai was a wonderful experience for both of us. We left feeling closer and more connected as a couple, refreshed and recharged. We highly recommend this retreat center to couples looking to take a break from their busy lives and focus on their relationship and well-being.
